I think I'm in a builder's lull.  I still love it when I go out to work on it, but getting myself motivated to get out there has proven difficult the last couple of weeks.  Today, I meant to get out there by 10am, but I decided to watch TV until 1pm.  Whatever...

I started this afternoon by trimming the aft ends of the 717 lower longerons to butt up against the 704 bulkhead.  Then I clamped them in place.

When I knew I had the spacing correct, I drilled the forward bolt holes thru the 717 and WD-60somethin'...

I repeated that for the right side, then made the F-684 gussets.  These are pre-cut, but there is quite a bit involved in getting them ready to fit, like removing portions, drilling holes, and bending edges.

After thinking this thru, I finally came up with a way to get these drilled fairly easily using my 12" bits.  They curve nicely so the drill is out away from interfering with anything, and the bit can still go straight in the hole.

Again, I repeated this for the right side, and then called it a day.  Dinner with my parents is on the menu for tonight, so I had to quit a little early.
