Back at it tonight after a great weekend in St. Louis.  Brit and Wiley took first place both days, and they got their title in Novice A.  Wiley is now a Companion Dog (CD)!!!

I setup the longerons for drilling tonight by clamping them in place to make sure the corner of the angle was flush with the top of the skins.  I drilled the right side first, then the left starting at the aft end up to the 704 bulkhead.

Before the front section was drilled, I had to trim about 1/4" off the front of the longerons to get the 3/4" of space between the front of the skin and the longeron.  I'm not really sure why Van's puts such an accurate measurement on the longerons when you initially cut them since it actually says in the inctructions at this stage that if they are short, it's not a problem.  I'm sure there is a point where it is a problem, but why do they need to be cut to a 32nd of an inch from the get go?  Anyway...here's how much I cut to get the 3/4".

After those were trimmed with the Dremel, I finished drilling them to the skins all the way to the front on the right side, but didn't get the left side done tonight.  That'll be quickly out of the way tomorrow.
