I started off tonight by wrapping up the ELT work in the back of the airplane.  The phone cord and antenna wire needed to be secured, and I wanted to be done with crawling back there for now.  You can see where the phone cord enters the conduit (that I reinstalled tonight), and the BNC connector at the top that goes to the antenna.

Next I put the little 1/8 music jack in place to see how the wiring would work...I'm not sure I can use this plug or not.  In this orientation, the wires will bump the Hobbs, and the other way may bump the panel.  I'll probably find another plug to use.

After staring at the panel for an unknown amount of time, I decided it was time to start installing some of this stuff for good.  Why not?  It's gonna have to go in sometime, and all the wiring was already run on the table inside.  Now I just have to figure out the routing in the airplane!  Can you say 'daunting'...I am going to work from the bottom up, so the transponder and comm went in first, followed by the Enigma.  These three are the main components with harnesses to hook up, but I still need to find a spot for the hidden-behind-the-panel intercom...it has a larger harness as well.

To keep things as tidy behind the panel while I'm working back there, I am draping all wires over the sides to start.

That's enough for tonight...Brit is out of town to a dog seminar tomorrow thru the weekend, so I'll have plenty of time to sort all of this out over the next few days.
