4/11/2009 Today was a great aviation day! I started out with breakfast at the chapter hangar, then worked on the airplane, then back out to the airport to clean out a buddy's hangar (he moved to Phoenix...and I ended up with some good stuff for mine!), then lunch, then back to the airport to help Larry bring one of his -7 wings home to fit it, then back to work on my airplane! Sweet!! This morning I worked on wiring up the fuel pump. I changed the terminals to aviation spade terminals, then connected them.
Then I worked on routing the AHRS and compass magnetometer for the EFIS. I had to drill an additional hole in the F704 bulkhead for the compass wiring to come thru.
The AHRS wiring comes thru the hole with the ELT remote cord. After bringing those wires up thru the panel, I connected those two wires to a two-in-to-one RCA connector, and heat shrunk them together (turns out, I jumped the gun on this since the compass magnetometer wiring has to go thru the wing first, so I had to undo this, and take that wire completely out...bummer).
After a couple trips out to the airport, I was back to the garage, and I worked on hooking up the Ebus switch (need to make a fused link still for that), wired the compass power, and ran alternator feed wiring and the LED alt off light. No pics of most of that, but here's the master switch with the LED installed above it.
And the back of the master and LED...
