4/19/2009 Phew! Four days FLEW by! A big piece of news that I forgot to mention a few days ago...we got a hangar! We knew it was coming to us since the beginning of March, but it was officially "ours" on April 15th. I had the hangar all of one full day before I had an overnight visitor...none other than a SONEX!! Kerry Fores was on his way to Sun N Fun from Oshkosh (he works for the factory), and he is good friends with Jim Cunningham (who wrote a book on John Monnett), who is a good friend of mine. Jim has a hangar, but he also has a Piper Arrow in it...there was room at Image, but Kerry needed to leave EARLY in the morning, and my hangar was obviously still empty, so we made the arrangements for the BEAUTIFUL Sonex that Kerry built (and POLISHED!) to spend the night in E20. Kerry on the left, and Jim...
On to the day's work! I started with the compass data wire that I snipped to run it through the fuselage. There were six or seven wires that needed to be soldered back together here.
With that done, I plugged it in, and the compass wiring was complete. Still need to mount the magnetometer tho...
Then I decided to install the mag...sort of. It's in place, but I'm sure we'll have to loosen it to time it later on.
On to shunt wiring...Going off of numerous pictures I printed from other builders, here's the setup for the shunt...
I had to change things around here as well...
And here's the sole purpose (at least for now) of the I/O Extender...the high/low shunt wiring.
And finally, an overall view of the wiring I did today...
I *think* I have all that right, but Rob is going to come over some time in the next couple of weeks to give it a once over...I'll always have a set of eyes that has one of these flying look over things when I'm not 100% sure I'm correct. 3.0 hours |
