I got a really late start tonight, but who cares...I'm on my time for the next three days!  After a workout and dinner, I made it out to the garage around 8:30 tonight, and started with the intercom install.  I gave up on the idea of mounting it behind the panel, mainly because of lack of space.  Since the Enigma has a built in autopilot, I decided to go ahead and use the hole I originally cut for an ADI Pilot II for the intercom.  That panel is removable, so before I paint it, I cut a hole for the intercom and clamped it to mark the screw holes.

Then it was a simple matter of mounting it in the panel.  The ugly SS screws used here won't be used to mount it permanently.

Then I installed the Hobbs meter, removed the music jack (gonna use a different one), and installed the left side air vent.  I mis-planned the air vent hole on the front of the panel too...so I had to cut a notch for the Enigma.  This does serve as a nice locking feature for the vent so it will never spin on me!

Next I fought with and cussed at the vent tubing.  I knew attaching it to the vent would be difficult with the thin flange on the backside, but after talking to Brit on the phone, I calmed down enough to get it done.  I used a thin hose clamp, and it worked out fine.

Nothing to do now but dive in to running wires!  I decided to just run everything, and I'll figure out how and where to secure the runs when I'm done.  I started with the intercom harness (no pic), and then hooked up all the ground wires that I have at this point.

Here's an overview of the mess of wires as of tonight.  It'll all get cleaned up this weekend...

And one last shot of the busses with several wires in place.  I am going to ask a couple of the local wiring guru's to come over and look over all this to make sure I've followed the diagrams properly...that means you Rob... ;o)

I think this is the latest I've ever done a web log entry...1am as I type this.  I'm off work tomorrow, so I'll be back at it again most of the day!
