4/25/2009 This morning started with yet another garage rearrange...I wanted to turn the fuselage around so I could install the tail, and to do that, several things at the back of the garage had to move. After I got all that done, I finished wiring the baggage lights and installed the panel.
Still need to run the wire to the battery buss, and ground them. Right as I was finishing that up, my friend Ray came over to help install the horizontal stabilizer. With so much done FWF already, the tail was REALLY light...like I could lift it with my pinky finger light. I've had a cinder block on it for a long time, but I couldn't really install the HS with that in the way. So Ray made sure the engine stayed put while I laid the HS in place, then we bolted it on for the final time.
Then we made a quick run to Ace Hardware and Aircraft Supply Store to get some SS hardware to mount the compass magnetometer.
Ray took off after that, and after a bite to eat, I installed the VS for the last time...
Time to get the house cleaned up for the in-laws coming tonight, and then off to the Gamma Phi Circus!! 3.25 hours |
