4/3/2009 What a great day off work today! I had visions of working like 12 hours today in the garage, but there were a few other things that got in the way. I didn't get to the garage until well after lunch, but I started with the music jack wiring. I stopped by Radio Shack to buy another jack plug, but that one ended up being too wide to fit under the Hobbs meter. So I went ahead and figured out how to wire the one I had...hope it works...
I installed that, and while doing so, knocked the air vent tubing off the flange that fought so hard with last night. Fun stuff. Had to do that all over again! After that was over with, I drilled the holes in the firewall for the main wire pass thru and the Light Speed Ignition wires.
Back to audio wiring...after a call to Rob, I felt better about doing the wiring on the headset and mic jacks, so I did those for the pilot side. I am not using shielded wire because I don't have strobes, and the alternator wiring will be on the engine side of the firewall because of where the Enigma brain box goes.
Here's a lucky shot I got of the back side of the plugs after being installed.
And the last thing I did tonight was to start loosely tidying up the wires with tie wraps. These are still loose so I can insert more wires, but I wanted to start organizing them because it was starting to look REALLY messy back there...
More of the same tomorrow... 6.0 hours |
