When I got home tonight, I had a box waiting for me on the porch!  Love it when that happens...'course, when one is building an airplane, and the phase of construction is that "slippery slope of completion", boxes on the porch are kinda the norm.  Today's box was a GREAT find on Ebay!  We have decided that most of the airplane will be polished, and the most expensive tool needed for the "Nuvite Finish" is the Cyclo polisher.  It's something like $350 or so!  While I'm sure it's worth it, I had to try and find a better deal...and a better deal is what I found!

This is the exact same thing as the "new" Cyclo twin orbit polisher, but this one is probably 25+ years old.  It was made by none other than...

Yup!  Sears Roebuck!  And the best part is...I paid all of $25 for it, and it works great!  Just needs a little cleaning, and maybe a new power cord (the cord casing is dry and cracked).  I love a great deal!

On to ignition wiring...In order to get the DB connector from the crank sensor (comes from Klaus already done) thru the firewall for the LSI brain box, it has to either come apart or be re-wired with a new connector unless a one inch hole is cut in the firewall.  I chose to re-wire it with a new connector.  Here it is as it comes from LSI with the shell removed-

After a frustrating two hours, I finally had the connector rewired...

The little wires in the sensor cable were easy...but the power wires were a PITA!!  I should have made that jumper quite a bit longer, because as it is, it was VERY difficult to get the shell on the connector.  I got it all jammed in the shell, and there's no way any of those wires can move around in there...hopefully that means no wiring problems down the road!

Here it is plugged in to the brain box-

I ran the power wire, but didn't put terminals on it tonight, and also cut the RG400 wires to length that go to the coils on the engine.  Gettin' late, and I guess I still have to go to work tomorrow.  Stupid work.

2.5 hours
