4/5/2009 Today I started with the intercom install. The panels that I painted yesterday were dry, so I could put the 403 in for good. All the panels have the same shape as the Enigma.
Since the wiring at the bottom of the panel is done, I went ahead and installed the AOA gauge, traffic, and compass. There is still plenty of room to work the remaining EFIS wiring...
...to illustrate that, here I have most of it done. The only things I have left to run to it are the compass and AHRS lines, the pitot line, and the GPS antenna.
Keeping the electrical stuff going, but moving back to the firewall, I figured out a good spot for the I/O Extender. This will do so much more than I need it for, but I am using it for the ammeter function. Allows for future expansion though...I made a doubler for this, and got one nut plate installed, but didn't have the second one, so this didn't get installed today. Also need to figure out where to put the ammeter shunt.
To finish out the afternoon, I drilled the holes for the LED caution lights in the main switch panel, and sub-switch panel. The main switch panel has an LED for alternator off/failed, fuel pump on, and recognition lights on.
The sub-switch panel has one for smoke on.
I'm out of 8-32 nuts so I didn't get these panels mounted today like I had hoped. I also need to read up on wiring these LED lights. 4.25 hours |
