It's 6:15pm and I've been up for 13 hours already...and it's a FREAKIN' Saturday!  I had to open our chapter breakfast and cook this morning.  After that was over with, I headed to the Advance Auto Parts store to buy some engine paint that is rated at 500 degrees.  Back at the shop (at work), I began the long process of detail cleaning the engine with MEK, and covering all the openings and threads.

We have boxes of these plastic fittings for keeping openings covered when engine work is being performed, and they work great for covering the holes for painting as well!

The case didn't take as long as I thought it would, but it wasn't quick either.

It's as clean as I can get it, and everything is covered, so time to paint!  Silver case...

While that was drying, I started cleaning and plugging the cylinders.  I did the bottom side, which took forever, then shot another coat on the case.

With the second coat drying, I finished up the cylinders by working the top side.

I covered the cylinder ID paint (where the blue tape is in the middle of the cylinder) to show they are steel cylinders.  Then it was off to the paint room...RED!

So there you have it!  Silver case, red cylinders!  I will replace the valve covers when we reassemble the engine after the paint is cured.  I put three coats of red on the cylinders, and my still have some touch up to do.

I did not get to the push rod tubes or the intake tubes today.
