August 2008 August 3rd Removed the canopy, installed a couple of plate nuts on the firewall August 6th General update, no building August 7th Removed engine from crate, drained the oil August 8th Engine wash and tear down August 9th Painted the engine August 10th Painted push rod tubes, and intake tubes, clean remaining parts August 11th FWF stuff is here, installed plate nuts and doubler for solenoids August 13th More plate nuts, started battery box August 14th Finished the lightening holes in the battery box August 16th Painted battery box, more FWF stuff is here August 17th Installed battery box, gascolator doubler, and gascolator August 18th Started engine reassembly August 19th Finished engine assembly, ignition and Enigma EFIS are here August 20th Engine back on hoist, preserved the engine August 22nd Weighed engine, brought engine home, painted flywheel, interior arrives August 23rd Installed manifold transducer, tightened fittings with Tite Seal, Installed contactors, engine mount on, FW cover August 25th Riveted top panel angle, fit Enigma, 295 panel dock August 27th Torqued the engine mount bolts, installed cotter pins August 28th Gear is on for good, 295 mount, switch panel fabrication August 31st Firewall penetrations, Tech Inspection, prepped for engine hanging
