12/8/2007 Been a while since I've done anything, but since I don't have a whole lot to do until the finish kit gets here, I'm gonna space things out a bit. Today, I started on the baggage lights. These are little eyeball swivel lights that can be purchased from a number of places. I got them from Wicks.
This is the under-cover that I will mount these in.
I will put one of them forward enough that I can use it to aid in panel light if need be. First, I laid out the locations, and drilled the hole for the eyeball. Then I clamped them in place, and drilled the holes for the screws. I'm not using the one's provided with the lights. Instead, I'm going to use #6 screws and nuts, so I drilled the holes in the plastic out for those, and countersunk the plastic.
Here they are cleco'd in place. I need to get the #6 dimple die from work, and some longer screws to install them.
In other news, I got a comm antenna off of Ebay this week. It's a Comant CI-121 SP-6 comm/loran antenna. I'm not sure I am going to use this one yet, but it was a good deal, so I grabbed it. Most people are using the bent whip version for ground clearance, but I think this one will be fine. We'll see.
I also bought a new, never used tray and harness for a Garmin 327 transponder from a guy on Barnstormers.
