12/17/2008-The 105th Anniversary of Flight I was finally able to squeeze a little bit of time in on the panel tonight. My new Icom IC-A210 comm radio came today, and Brit did some Christmas shopping after work, so I took the time to start the install of this radio.
I had hoped that the tray would've fit the angle mounts I made previously for the SL40 that I had, but it didn't. I had to remake those. Not a big deal, but a little annoying. I got to the point of being ready to rivet the angles to the panel again.
I need to figure out how to get the face of the radio off so I can remove it from the tray...the removal screw is behind the face on this one. Oh, I bought an autopilot this week too! I came across a deal on a new TruTrak Pictoral Pilot that was new and uninstalled, so I passed up the ADI Pilot II that I was planning. This is a single axis AP, but I can, and probably will, add altitude hold later. 1.5 hours |
