12/10/2009 Tonight was supposed to be a Cessna 195 RC work night, but Rich forgot he had his wife's work Christmas party. So that meant I had some time to work on the RV instead! I worked on getting the dash carpet installed first. This was a VERY iterative process of getting in closing the canopy, checking the fit, making Sharpie marks for cutting, raising the canopy, getting out, cutting the fabric, and repeat. I got it done. I'm not super pleased with it, but I think I'm okay with it...The canopy glass made an interesting reflection on the front of the carpet...it's not two tone like it looks. The GPS antenna's will have Velcro to keep them secure.
The wrap around underneath isn't as neat as I would've liked, but I think I can hide some of this with the light strip that I'll put in later.
Next I replaced the backup battery for the Enigma (red arrow in pic). It has been a year and a half since I received the Enigma, and the battery is to be changed every two years or so. I chose to do it now while thinking about it during the setup since two years will come and go without me noticing, I'm sure. I also put two Ferrite filters on the RCA data wires coming in to the EFIS (green arrows). The one filter that has a tie wrap around it was installed earlier this year on the GPS antenna wire.
Finally tonight, I tested the audio input with a headset on. I'm happy to report that in-flight music entertainment works great!
