12/28/2009 As expected, the Christmas holiday took almost all of our time, and I had zero time on the RV...but that's cool. It was great to spend time with the fam on both mine and Brittne's side. I got some Snap On tools (mom and dad are now Snap On franchise owners), and a pair of AveoAir eyeball vents for the panel to replace the ones I removed. Tonight I got back to work on the spinner gap plates. I was kinda worried about getting them bent properly because it's .063, and the pieces are small. Turned out to be easy with them in a vise, and I used my seamers to bend them to the proper shape (using a template I made for the curvature of the back plate). The first one trimmed to fit, and clamped in place-
After repeating that two more times, all three were trimmed, and ready to drill in to place...very carefully so as not to nick the prop blade with the air drill...
I went ahead and removed the prop for now so I can countersink and rivet the plates to the spinner back plate.
I still have to add a tab to each gap plate, and then drill that to the spinner to install nut plates...next time. 2.0 hours |
