I forgot the Daytona 500 was today, so I didn't spend as much time in the shop as I thought I would.  Normally, I'll watch the races in the garage while I work, but not the Great American Race.  Gotta watch that one on the couch.  I also didn't really feel like starting on the longerons today.  I did finished the bulkheads, however!

I started by making the 711D angle.  I drilled it to the 711 bulkhead, then deburred, and prepped those parts for priming.

While those were drying, I started the simple 712 bulkhead.  All this consisted of was drilling 15 holes to #40, deburring, and dimpling.  The aft face of this bulkhead has to be flat for the vertical stabilizer installation later on.  When that was done, I primed those parts as well.  With the temps where they are, it takes a bit longer for the primer to dry, so skip to about an hour or so later, and I went back out to rivet these bulkheads together.

On the 711 bulkhead, I bent some of the tabs outward to get the squeezer on the head squarely.

711 and 712 done. The 711D angle is left cleco'd for now, and bottom hole on the bars is left open to get drilled for a bolt later.

Bulkheads done, longerons next!

2.25 hours
