2/12/2009 I ended up with unexpected hour free tonight, so I decided to put it to good use. the compass is the next item in line to get power and ground wires run, so I did those.
The plug between the posts is for the magnetometer that will be remote mounted somewhere, and the other two tabs are for the instrument light. Since I'm building a day/VFR airplane, those won't be hooked up. Next item...the Garmin 295. I have a power plug for it to be hard wired to the airplane power, but I need to figure out which wire is which. There is a diagram in the book for the plug end of the wire, but nothing that tells me with color wire is power, ground, or in and out data. I tried getting readings with my ohm meter, but the pins are too big to get in the plug to check for continuity. Have to do some research, or ask on the forums...
I placed ANOTHER order with Stein yesterday for some antenna wire (RG-400), BNC connectors, and some Dsub pins and sockets. Man, the shipping charges are adding up! It's hard to get the whole picture together to place one big order though... I also ordered the I/O extender from Craig Vincent at Skyview Aviation today for the Enigma. This will provide me with an ammeter, and future expansion for other sensors and alarms. It's true what they say...money starts flowing out the door like a freakin' fire hose at this point!! 1.0 hour |
