Wiring is now in the fun category, but man is it time consuming!!  Five hours today, and I have very little to show for it.  I started by finishing the Garmin 295 power wiring.  After a little searching on the web, I was able to find which wires were power and ground, and which one's were data in/out...those will be left alone for now.  I also plugged the antenna in, though it's just to hook it up...won't work in the house.

My order from Stein came in Friday, so I have the RG-400 antenna wire and BNC's to work with now.  First to get an antenna wire is the the Monroy traffic detector.  I'm planning on putting the antenna just behind the firewall on the right side by the gear leg.  Others have put antenna's here, and have had no issues with interference from the gear.  We'll see what happens.

I enjoyed putting the BNC connectors on...it's a neat (presentation) way plug stuff in.

Then I moved back to the Enigma because I haven't done the research on transponder or comm wiring yet.  The AHRS sensors needed  to be wired, but a bunch of internet reading and emails to my vendor had to happen first.  They get wired to RCA connectors in to the back of the EFIS, and I didn't have the pinout drawing or scheme to tell me which wires go where.  After finding the table here (page 15), I proceeded with soldering splices...this is the data in and ground for the SP-2 compass system.

Those were taped up with electrical tape, and then heat shrinked to close up the splice.  There are two wires in the harness that are run outside the shielded portion, power and ground.  Since the AHRS is grounded thru the RCA, the external wire isn't needed for ground, so I closed that wire inside the heat shrink, and left the power wire out.

I need to grab a couple of inline 1A fuses for the power wire if I run them to the EFIS for power, or I can run them to the Endurance bus for power.  That's my next decision...gotta do some reading on which is better.  Seems most of the RV guys using the Enigma are going for the Ebus routing.

Brit had a training session with the dogs this afternoon, but today being Valentine's Day, the evening is hers...
