2/24/2009 I won this Flightcom 403 intercom in Ebay a couple weeks ago for $115. It's not going to be mounted in the panel, but will be used hidden behind the panel. I plan to mount it vertically behind the panel in front of me so I can still turn the volume and squelch knobs. The connector came with it, but it's a solder type, and I don't really want to mess with that...too much work compared to regular pins and sockets. So yet another order to Stein will go out tomorrow.
I spent way too much time taking the wires out of the back of the connector thinking I would use it, but in the end decided against it. The wiring of the intercom appears to be a bit more complicated than I thought it would be, but I'll get through it. Since I don't have a connector to wire up tonight, I started on the switch sub-panel that will contain the smoke switch, and the ELT remote.
I didn't get very far on this tonight...we were going for a late workout tonight, so I just got it marked for the holes before it was time to put it down. Tomorrow I need to pull the tail spring from the fuselage and run it over to Rob's house for him to shoot it with some AZKO to prevent it from rusting again... 1.75 hours |
