2/7/2009 I started off my airplane time today with something that has bugged me for the last couple of days, and I keep forgetting to do it...my desiccant plugs on the engine are pink again (all but one), and I needed to heat them back to blue. Can you tell which one was in the cylinder with a top dead center piston??? ;o)
Even thought it was blue, I heated it in the oven too. 195 degrees for three hours, and voila!...all deep blue again. On to wiring...Didn't do much as I had plenty of other distractions today with housework, and a BEAUTIFUL 65 degree February day! I did make the RDAC power and ground wires, as well as hook up the GPS antenna to the Enigma. There's not a lot to take pictures of at this point, so I snapped a couple just to throw something in here. Here's the E buss with two more wires hooked up...Enigma and RDAC...woo hoo...
The back of the Enigma with the RDAC power wire shown passing by, a ferrite bead (eliminates electro magnetic interference...EMI, issues) that I ran the RDAC data cable thru, and the GPS antenna at the top.
I also ran out to the airport today to Rob's hangar. He was out there trouble shooting a minor Lightspeed problem, and had the cowl off. I needed some pictures of this firewall, so I visited with him for an hour or so. (UPDATE: the LSI problem was AL shavings from a screw rubbing the baffle that had made it's way to the crank sensor ring...all cleaned up, and ready to go!) I hope to work on a bit more tomorrow, but it's supposed to be another nice day with calm winds...may have to go fly something whether it's full scale or RC... 1.5 hours |
