2/10/2010 I decided today that I am going to go ahead with the use of the small smoke tank that I bought, and mount it on the center cover. The tank is a 2.5 quart container...so yes, it's small. Maybe I won't be happy with it down the road, but for now, it's going in the airplane. So first, I installed the plate nuts for the cage the tank sits in, and screwed that down in to place.
Then I set the Holly fuel pump in place, and marked the locations for the bolt holes.
After installing a couple of plate nuts for the AN4 bolts, I installed the fuel pump, and dropped the tank in place.
Then I put the cover in place to see how this all worked together with the trim cable and such. I also like the fact that the fuel pump for the tank is more or less hidden by the tank, so it's less of an eye sore here.
A side shot of how it all looks installed. I think this all worked out nicely, and the oil lines will have a very short run to the firewall fittings.
So, we'll see how this all goes later on, but for now I'm happy with this. 2.0 hours |
