All day today I've been thinking of what I have left to do on the airplane, and what I was going to work on tonight.  My list is getting seemingly scary short...I messed around with figuring out what to do with my smoke system to start things off tonight.  The use of the O2 bottle is being chucked.  I just don't like the mounting options in the baggage area, and I don't really want to run oil lines from there to the firewall.  So, back to square one with that.

While thinking on that a bit further, I decided it was time to start tidying things up a bit, starting with the wiring that will be covered in the center of the floor.

That makes such a huge difference in how things look in there...

Then I fit the center cover and determined that my wire bundle is too thick for me to be comfortable with how it exits at the firewall.  I made a cutout in that area to give some relief (green arrow).  I also came back to the idea of mounting this little windshield washer tank on top of the center cover for the smoke system.  Pretty much out of the way as small as it is, and I could run lines easily to the firewall from here, and the fuel pump mounting would be a snap...hmm...it won't hold much smoke to last very long, but really, how much do I need to lay some down at my buddy's house, or puff it when traffic is nearby???

I also had to make a relief cutout at the fuel selector end of the cover for the wires, but didn't grab a pic of that.

Since I don't have a firewall recess, I've been needing to make a cover for the heat box.  The recess is normally used as the top of the heat box...after a quick search for some scrap AL, I cut, bent, drilled, and riveted the cover in place.

I don't really know how long or short my "list" is because I haven't made one yet...perhaps I should.  Other than the wheel pants, gear leg fairings, and fiberglass tip filling...there ain't much left!  I could be wrong tho...usually am.  There's the primer system inside the cabin...installing the new IOX from MGL when it arrives...tidying up the rest of the wiring...spark plugs...several misc items on the engine...bottom horizontal stab covers...rear window install...interior...oil door...cowl work...yeah, there is plenty left to do!

My replacement rod end bearings from JD Air Parts should be in tomorrow so I can wrap that up again...

2.5 hours
