1/15/2009 How 'bout an update on what I'm doing? Well, I've been spending a lot of time reading the Aero Electric Connection, reading the Van's manual, reading the install instructions on the avionics, and working thru a load analysis sheet. At that point, I began to wonder how much wire I am going to need. I got to the point where I felt quite overwhelmed with the big picture, and I just put everything down and didn't think about it for a few days. I finally asked a question on VAF about how much wire I might need, and Marc Ausman (of Vertical Power) told me the best thing to do since I'm doing it "the old fashioned way", is to draw everything out to scale to get an idea of how much wire I need. So here's what I've come up with so far...
I used the width of the cabin as my scale, and laid out each item that needs power. I'm not sure on the location of the buses yet, but this is a good start for me. If you have any comments for me, please feel free to contact me... I hope to get thru this design phase in the next couple of weeks, and get some wire ordered to work on in February. |
