1/19/2009 I'm counting tonight's work as build time because I started on the diagram drawings that will actually be used to lay out the wires. The drawing I did the other day was a "see how this works" kinda thing, and it's going to be too difficult to do what I want to do using the method of modifying a jpeg pic each time. So...tonight I drew a scale drawing of the cabin to the nose with the firewall, sub-panel, and panel shown in their actual positions. I'm using a free circuit board and schematic design program called ExpressPCB/SCH. I also used it to make my wiring schematics. It's a very simple software download, and will make my understanding of what I'm doing easier. The idea here is to make a drawing for every electrical component in the airplane. Each one will have it's own page, and will document the routing of every wire that is put in the airplane. It'll make the install easier, and will make future maintenance a breeze to know where each wire is routed. So tonight I drew out the master page, then made a page for each panel component. There are several other pages I need to do, such as the alternator and starter, but I ran out of time to complete those. I'll have pictures of a couple to put on the build log when they are done, but there's nothing worth putting in this entry tonight. 1.5 hours Side note for my own future use of this log...our nation's first African American President, Barack Obama, will be sworn in to office tomorrow...we've come a long way...I, along with millions of other Americans, am looking forward to this... |
