1/31/2009 Continuing with my learning curve on wiring, my buddy Rob came over to go over my schematics and run drawings. He's pretty much a wiz with this stuff, and since his 7 had ZERO electrical squawks from first flight on, I trust him to look over everything, and have me make the necessary corrections...and there were PLENTY! He was here for a good two hours, and we worked thru each one of my drawings. I have a much better understanding of all this now, and really feel like I can start running some wires this week! There will be a couple more visits from Rob, I'm sure, but this is a great kick to move forward! So, here is the revised 'Master' file showing the electrical foundation...in reducing this pic to fit, I did lose the sharpness (and clarity-the battery area for example), so it's hard to see the exact wiring runs, but this is the idea. All other components in the airplane that are powered will get a page like this one.
I guess I could've done a thumbnail link to a bigger picture...maybe next time... I also worked on the Enigma page tonight. That's a very cluttered drawing, but in the program it's easy to zoom to figure it all out, and they do print nice and clear. Still a lot of work to do, but I'm on the right track now! I got a couple orders this week...one from Stein with several gauges of wire, terminals, and some cool new amber caution LED lights.
A closer view of the LED's...these things are really cool. They are medium intensity, so they won't blind you if/when they are on. One for alternator off/low voltage, one for smoke on, and one for fuel pump on.
I also got a small package from B&C with an S700-2-10 DPDT switch for OFF/BATT/ALT function. 3.25 hours |
