I started out tonight by making a run to my hangar to get the flaps and some other mics. things that I will need shortly.  I needed to get the flaps hung in order to start rigging the controls soon, so I did that first tonight.  They aren't hooked up yet, but they are hanging limp off the wings now.

Then I started the Tail Lynx springs.  Not sure why I thought I could do those without the rudder being hooked up to the pedals yet, but I started anyway.  The first thing you do is bend the rear attach clevis to 20 degrees.  I did that, and at that point, realized that I wouldn't be doing anything else with those until the rudder was hooked up.

So moving on to the rudder cables.  First I installed the rear clevises to the rudder horn.

Then I clamped the rudder neutral, and installed the left side pedal first, nice and tight.

I then clamped the right side pedals together with some angle...

...and proceeded to make new cable attachments because the one's I made long ago weren't long enough.  After that, it was a simple matter of hooking the right side cable up.

It wasn't really as simple as it sounds...lots of in and out of the cockpit, laying on my stomach, measuring, drilling, etc...but in a matter of a couple of hours, I had them hooked up, and had to sit in the pilot's seat to move the rudder with the pedals.  WAY COOL!!!

Next time I'll be able to hook up the Tail Lynx springs...

2.5 hours
