I started the landing lights tonight! I am using the Duckworks system, but I'm building it myself. I came across the template, and some other things that will aid in figuring out how and where everything goes. So, I started by laying out the template for the right leading edge, and traced the line to cut.
As you can see from the pic above, I am modifying the cutout somewhat to make the top portion round.
Here's the initial cut I made with the Dremel and a cutoff wheel. Pretty rough, but it was really quite easy to do.
Then I started smoothing the edges with the Dremel and a drum sander and a couple of files. I only did the bottom side tonight since I told Brit I would spend most of the evening with her.
