The canopy is getting really close to being done.  This thing, including building up the frame, has been SO time consuming!

Anyway, at work today, I made the trims on the skirts using the metal sheer.  Worked great, and the edges are perfectly straight!  Tonight I worked on deburring the side skirts, and then dimpled them for the rivets and screws.

Then I trimmed the "ears" down on the 702 canopy skin just a little bit to meet the skirts.

After that I countersunk the 725 side rails for the dimples in the skirts.

That's it for work today, but I did get my cowl inlet rings in the mail today.  These are not from James Aircraft, but they are the same size as the James inlet rings.  These are highly polished versions made by an RV guy in New York, and they are $50 cheaper than the SJ rings (for two).

That's about it...except I found an engine to buy.  More details to follow, but I found a rebuilt O-360 in Texas that was going to be put in an RV-9, but they decided to put a 320 on it instead, so this engine became available.  Sweet!
