7/1/2009 July 1st, and it didn't even get to 70 degrees today!! WTF is going on!!?? Anyway, tonight I had the help of Steve Clifford to lend his hands at helping me fit and trim the bottom cowl. We got it positioned, and then taped it nice and tight to keep everything in place to mark the trim lines.
Here's a couple of shots of the trim lines...inside the cowl, using the top cowl as a guide-
...and the left side vertical-
You can also see where the top cowl is sitting inside the bottom cowl...there is a lot of material to trim for them to match up. After I was satisfied that it was marked as necessary, including the bottom and exhaust outlet, I took the cowl outside to make the trims. I now have a nice square bottom cowl!
There is still plenty of sanding to do, and I need to take the top cowl off again to trim the little extra material from the back, but I'm getting close to being done with the major fitting of the halves at least! 2.0 hours |
