7/15/2009 Wasn't sure if I would get a night in this week or not...tonight was a toss up between the big airplane and the little airplane, the RC 195. In the end the RV won because my "dab kit" of sealant came in today, and I wanted to finish riveting the hinge to the top cowl.
With that set aside to cure, I turned my attention back to the primer lines and how they are secured. I had several people tell me exactly what I thought they would...the zip ties and vinyl tubing are too close to the exhaust. So I switched those out, and put in cushion clamps. Not an easy thing to do, but I got it done. Here's a tour of the primer lines...right side, cylinder 1, looking aft-
Looking from cylinder 3 forward-
What in the world is all that extra line for? Well, service I suppose now. I have a lot of extra here because this was to be my first attempt at soldering brass to copper, and I wanted to have enough extra to cut if need be. It's okay, but I still may cut it off to make it look nicer. 'Course, service loops are always a plus...
Cylinder 2, looking back-
Under cylinder 4...that clamp was a MAJOR PITA...
Looking forward from cylinder 4-
Not much else gonna happen until next week now...Chapter cookout tomorrow...going to Oshkosh for a volunteer work weekend on Friday...I'm back Sunday afternoon, but I won't get back out to the hangar until at least Monday. 2.0 hours |
