With just a couple days to go until the opening day of Oshkosh, we've been getting a lot of people stopping in for some gas or a leg stretch before the last 225nm or so up north.  Today, we had an airplane in that proved if there was any doubt in my mind (there's not) about polishing my airplane, this would have COMPLETELY taken that away.  Unbelievable!!

This shot here is enough to make you drool... ;o)---

That is the Nuvite system at work, with the Cyclo polisher...exact same system I'm using.  VERY nice!!

On to the evening...I took the cowl off the airplane tonight to work on sanding the tabs back a bit.  I didn't get them to the exact shape I want yet, but I don't want to take too much off before getting the metal back plate and plate nut installed.

I also made a mount on the left wingtip for the magnetometer to sit on.  A nice solid piece of 1/4" angle worked nicely here.

I mounted it just like the AHRS unit, with velcro and tie wraps.
