6/15/2007 No building today. LOOOONG day at work, and I just wanted to stay inside in the AC with the dogs. I did get my tubes and tires today! I ordered these just a few days ago thru work, and they showed up this morning. I ordered two Condor 5.00x5 6 ply tires, and two Michelin AirStop tubes. Both are about the best you can get for rubber. Everyone says the one's Van's sells are junk, so I'll be deleting those from my finish kit order down the road.
This evening, while vegging in front of the TV, I brought the panel down from storage, and cut out actual size printouts of the panel I have in mind right now. Nothing is measured, centered, lined up, etc...but I found this to be REALLY cool to see it in life size. Panel Planner is neat and all, but actually seeing the stuff in front of you is SWEET!! Here I have the MGL Stratomaster Enigma EFIS front and center. This is a neat unit that is fairly new within the last year or so. It has an integrated GPS as well as a 3D attitude indicator, and it talks to the Trio AP and the XCOM radio. LOTS of other features, but I won't get in to that here. You can read about it on the Stratomaster page. Also in the panel is an LRI angle of attack, Trio autopilot with Altitude Hold, KT-79 transponder (already have this), XCOM 760 mini comm, Monroy ATD-200 traffic alert (already have this), Garmin 295 GPS with Air Gizmos dock (already have this), and a CD/XM receiver. I've drawn in where the switches and starter button will go.
Probably no building tomorrow or Sunday either. I am going to work on getting my wings hung in my garage Saturday, and we're taking dad out on the boat on Sunday. |
