6/23/2007 I didn't think I'd get to work on the airplane today, but I found some time since it's raining, and I can't work outside. I started by drilling the rear top skin to the bulkheads and J channels.
Then I cleco'd the F-787 top rib to the 706 bulkhead, and made the F-707B clip (didn't get a pic of that piece).
I grabbed the F-774 forward top skin from the storage room, and deblued and deburred that thin puppy, then fit it to the fuselage. I found out that I had to trim the J channels a bit to get the bulkhead to line up right, so I removed the skin, made the trims (rough cut for now), then re-cleco'd the skin back in place.
I also slid the F-788 gusset that fits between the top of 706 and the skin.
Then I started drilling...
That skin was somewhat of a PITA to fit, but it all lines up just as it should in the end. 3.0 hours |
