6/3/2007 What a nice relaxing Sunday it has been. I worked on my RC airplane this morning, then worked on the real airplane for a little bit this afternoon. I began by leveling the fuselage to rid any twist that may or may not be present. I started with the center section. This was easy as the table it sits on is already level. The side to side measurement required a couple pieces of paper to level it due to the carpeting on the table.
Then the level was set on the longerons to measure the fore/aft level. I was 0.2 degrees forward, so I just slide the sawhorse back about an inch, and we have zero degrees.
With the center section level and clamped, I moved to the aft deck to check what I had there. I didn't get a pic of it, but I had 0.7 degrees of twist in the fuselage. This was easily corrected by clamping the F-714 aft deck plate in a position to make it 0.0.
I had four C-clamps holding it in place while I drilled the 714 to the longerons. I'm happy to report that I still have 0.0 degrees level after drilling took place!
I removed the 714 to deburr all the holes, and then primed the 714 aft deck. That's all for today! 1.75 hours |
