6/21/2009-Happy Father's Day!!

This morning I got an early start to the day...up at 6, finished cleaning the house for the in-law visit this afternoon, then out to the hangar by about 8 to work on the airplane for a couple of hours.  I started with the 1304-50 wing bolts...these went in much easier than the 1307 bolts, but still a bit of work.  Notice I put the lower right one in aft to forward.  I had to do this because the brace in front of the spar is in the way of sliding the bolt in.

Since I was already inside the airplane, I went ahead and installed the fuel pump to gascolator fuel line.  This is another line from Bonaco that I had made recently.

The last thing I worked on today was the forward wing/tank attach brackets.  I needed to get the plate nuts installed so I can put the brackets in place.  Here's how I fit and drilled that little guy...

The hole is a slight bit canted, but it will do for holding a plate nut on.  The stacks of washers was used so I had just enough threads available to get them in to the plate nut before it became too hard to turn by hand.  My rivet squeezer was on loan when I did this, but was brought back to my hangar just as I was leaving, so I'll slam those rivets in next time.
