6/29/2009 Seventy-five degrees, sunny, and a cool breeze...what a great weather day! It was a bit windy, so with the hangar just cracked open, and a very comfortable hangar temp, I fiddled around with the top cowl trying to figure out why the right side is 1/4" higher than the left. I think I have just about convinced myself that the entire airplane is listing to the left ever so slightly, making the cowl appear slanted. I took all kinds of measurements, and they all seem to agree that that is the case. Whether it's an uneven floor, or something else, I think that's the reason. After that, I cut, drilled, deburred, countersunk, and cleco'd the vertical side hinges for the bottom cowl on both sides...they'll need to be trimmed at the top to butt up against the horizontal hinge, but I'll worry about that later.
I almost hated to leave the hangar...it was SO nice this evening out there... 2.0 hours |
