Well today is the six year dating anniversary for Brit and I (our five year wedding anniversary is next month as well!!).  Happy anniversary honey!  I love you!

Brit did have a dog show today, and Wiley took first place in his obedience class!!  Way to go Brit and Wiley!!  Since she was gone until mid afternoon, I did some house chores and mowed the grass for the first time this year this morning, but I did manage to get almost 4 hours in on the airplane sporadically.  There are a lot of parts that go in to this center section, and I really enjoying seeing it come together.  I'm not in any rush to get this thing done, so I really don't mind these areas that take a while.

Anyway, I started this morning with the F-715 side seat ribs.  Remember from before, I had already put a centerline on the bottom flange, but before I could fit the ribs in, I did have to remove almost 1/8" from the front of the rib to fit inside F704 properly.  Once that was done, I set the rib outside the hole-line, and marked where I needed to flute this thing.  There is quite a curve to this particular rib, so heavy on the flutes is in order here.

With everything lined up nicely on the centerline, I started drilling away.  I also drilled the ribs to 704 once the bottom flange holes were done.  Also in need of drilling is the rear flange.

I then repeated these steps for the other side, and then put the seat pans back in place to get the proper .032 spacing right.  They call for this so the side skins don't rub the seat pan skin and cause abrasion or cracking.  You can see in this picture how the light is reflected off the flange to show that spacing.

After those holes are drilled, it all comes out for deburring.  Somewhere in there, I decided to get the flap bearing brackets out and drilled the #10 holes in them.  I waited on this because I didn't want to mess with it before.  Seemed odd to do it when called for, so I skipped it and made a note.  Now is as good a time as any, I guess.

I went back to the side ribs to deburr and dimple where necessary, and I also put the 5/8" hole in for a snap bushing.  This will be used for wiring the aft battery location since I am going to put an Eggenfellner E6 Subie up front.  Here's a shot of the nutplate holes being drilled on the 715 rib.

Then I cleaned them up, and shot some white primer on 'em.  While waiting for those to dry, I deburred everything else in the center section that needed it.  A set of Burraway's RULE for these tasks!!

There were several breaks in there today for Menards, laundry, mowing, and playing with Yeager, and this evening Brit and I will be celebrating our anniversary with her favorite restaurant, The Olive Garden.
