I got a new tool today!  This is one that I should've bought right from the start, and I have no idea why I didn't, or why I waited this long to get one.  The belt sander is a 1" ribbon-type sander, and EATS metal quick!  This one is portable with rubber legs on the bottom so it does not need to be bolted down, and is easily mobile.

On to building!  I couldn't do all that much tonight because I'm now waiting for paint to dry.  I started by priming the inside of the aft tail skin F-779 with the self etching primer I've been using since the beginning.  But, since this is a taildragger, and I plan to visit lots-o-grass strip runways, I wanted to beef up the protection a bit in this area.  Since grass is usually fairly moist, and the ground does hold water well, I can see this area as a potential corrosion location.  So, I did topcoat the skin and the 711 and 712 bulkheads with a Rustoleum metal paint in black.

I also touched up the tail spring mount.  While those were drying (they still are...), I made some necessary trims to the J channels and then prepped and primed those.

I hope to start assembling this stuff tomorrow night, but for sure over the weekend.
