3/2/2009 Today was a sick day for me. I started out at work, made it until about 10am, then came home. Since it's a head cold, I was definitely up for some wiring work while home, and the important thing is I'm not passing this along to my co-workers. I started with the BNC connector for the A210 antenna. This thing was a PAIN IN THE ASS. No other way to put it. I grabbed a pair of snap ring pliers from a buddy at work, but it was very difficult to work inside the tray with it attached to the panel. I ended up using some plastic tubing that was a 1/2" in OD, put the washer and snap ring on it, then pushed them both on to the connector with a screwdriver. Still a PITA, but it worked. Here's the outside-
And the inside...a bit washed out from the flash-
Then I made the antenna wire from RG-400.
After a break here and there to do some research, I made the jumper wires for the diode between the main and endurance bus.
Most of my time researching today was spent on the S700-2-10 switch. This thing is beyond my understanding, and I needed someone to point out, point blank, which tabs are which. They aren't labeled, which I think is dumb, but I'm sure electrical guru's just know this stuff. Anyway, I have to figure out which four tabs out the six get the four wires.
Update: After further research, and emails to Mike Bullock, I've figured out which wires go where, and that'll be next on the agenda. After that, this panel wiring on the bench stuff is DONE!! 4.25 hours |
