3/23/2009 Today at lunch, I borrowed a Greenlee punch from the avionics shop to make the other hole for the passenger air vent. This was SO MUCH EASIER than what I did last night with the Unibit and #40 bit to punch out my side...
This air vent slid right in perfectly!
Next I decided to put random lightening holes in my fuse block tray...why not? The smaller holes are for mounting the blocks.
And here I have them mounted, and installed for good in the airplane!
The last few holes to locate and drill in the panel were the mic and headset jacks.
A neat behind the panel shot...
And finally tonight, I took the panel back out (I think I can paint it now!) and then I reinstalled a nut plate on each of the panel ribs that I removed the other day to mod the panel for the tray screws/nuts. This side will have to make due with a single rivet, but the other side has two rivets in a single lug nut plate.
I feel much better about the air vent SCAT routing problem tonight...I really think it will work the way I mentioned yesterday by running it thru the sub-panel above the diode. Time for time with Brit, and a couple days off the project... 2.5 hours |
