3/7/2009 Today was garage rearrange day, but before I started on that, I had to get the tail wheel reinstalled on the airplane so I could move the fuselage around. MANY thanks to Rob for shooting AZKO primer on my spring, fork mount, and horn for me!!
I decided not to paint it for now since our paint scheme is still, umm...not finalized. Then I rearranged the garage for the rest of the morning. After lunch I finished disassembling the panel, and I also fixed the power wire two in to one pin problem. I talked to Stein about this on the phone, and he said the solder would hold, but for an unknown amount of time. At some point, it would fail. Took 15 minutes, and it is now done right.
The panel...it went from this...
To this today...
I have a couple more holes to make in the panel for the headset jacks, and music input, then I should be able to get it painted. The transponder harness will stay in place because it won't come off unless I take the whole back plate off the tray. Easier to leave it installed. I hope to get some good rainy day work done in the garage tomorrow...just gotta figure out where I left off last Fall... 1.5 hours |
