I didn't think I would get to work tonight, but Brit decided to take the boyz to the club for her class tonight, and that means I get a couple hours in the garage.  I continued with the fitting of the baffles, starting with the right rear set.  I riveted all the doublers in place, and cleco'd the two pieces together for fitting.  I got a little picture happy tonight...

The front two pieces are very easy with just two screw hole doublers per side to rivet in place.

The baffles as they come from Van's are outstanding in their fit to my engine.  The kit has come a long way from what I hear.  I do have a couple areas to address, but I'll get to that in a minute.  First a couple of pics of the screws loosely in place on both sides-

Here's the aft right screw...it fits, but just barely...

Like I said, there are a few areas that I need to address that interfere with the engine in some way or another.  The left aft screw is tightened using a spacer, but there's also a tab coming off the bottom of that screw hole area for some reason that hits one of the cylinder base hold down nuts-

This is an easy fix as I'll just hack off that tab.  You can see in the pic below where the screw goes from the aft baffle to the case with a spacer.

Another area that I'll need to do some shaving of AL, is at the rear of the baffles where they go over the center of the case.

Not a big deal at all there.

Next I marked the area where the LSI wires will come thru the plenum chamber.  I'll drill a couple of holes, use grommets, and seal them for air leaks.

Then, just for the fun of it, I decided to throw the plenum over the engine to get an idea of where I'll be trimming mine.  Seems like they all get trimmed somehow...

I actually didn't think the fit was all that bad, but quickly realized that I have an issue or two, or three...to deal with.  The first thing I noticed, is that it is sitting too far forward, even though the aft end is snug against the aft baffles.

And I have some interference here...which, if it were back where it should be, wouldn't be interfering there...

The oil cooler area is always a modded area, and mine will be no different...too short here.

I just wanted to try this to make some notes...can't do anything with it until the cowl is done, and that hasn't even shipped yet.  Too bad that plenum is gonna cover up my pretty engine!!
