5/13/2006 Well, I had plans of really digging in today with a bunch of stuff getting done, but as usual, other things got in the way. I did get some stuff done though. I started off by getting a couple of "house cleaning" items done that were bugging me. I needed to tap the tie down threads a little further, so I did that, and I took care of the scratch I made in the spar waffle plate the other day. I did this with the dremel and a drum sander followed by scotchbrite. The left pic is after the scotchbrite, and the right is after primer was sprayed.
Then I removed the inboard and outboard tank ribs from the baffle/spar and reinstalled in the tanks. Also removed the baffle from each spar, and installed on the tanks. The Z brackets were visible again, and as the pic shows, the holes are right down the middle!
With the baffles in place, I drilled the left tank skin to the ribs and baffle and then removed a strip of blue with the soldering iron on the tank sink in order to countersink the tank to baffle holes.
