5/23/2006 I'm fighting a pretty strong head cold right now, but I still managed to get a good night's work in tonight. I kept going on the T-405 tank attach angles by filing and scotchbrite wheeling them to shape and smooth them. The wheel got a workout tonight!
Then I drilled each attach angle according to the plans, then drilled them to the ribs and reinforcement plates.
Next I deburred those holes, and moved to cutting the holes in the inboard ribs with the drill press and fly cutter...
I was worried about this, but it turned out to work like a charm! I'm not sure why these don't come already done. Seems like it could be cut very easily. Anyway, they are done, and it was time to clamp the T-408 access plates to the ribs where I just made the cutout, and drill and cleco those in place.
Then the ribs get flipped over to cleco the T-407 attach ring to the ribs. These get set aside for now.
Next, since I'm putting a standard fuel pick up tube in the right tank, I had to make the T-915 anti rotation bracket. I broke my bandsaw blade tonight cutting this little piece, so I'll have to get a new one soon. I also don't have a 9/16th drill bit to drill the big hole in the bracket. So, this is where I left off for the night.
