5/12/2009 While this has nothing to do with the RV, this was interesting enough to make an entry...I got a call from a local guy today that bought a house on the southwest side of town. He says he has a set of wings for an airplane hanging in the garage that came with the house. So after work I drove out there to check 'em out...I have had a couple people tell me that there was a house that was for sale that had a set of wings in the garage a while back, and it turns out this is the house! The guy that bought it was kind enough to not even think about trashing them, and located my number thru the president of the Prairie Aviation Museum. These are the lower wings to an EAA Sport Biplane! I called up my buddy Steve to grab a trailer he has use of, and had him come over to help me take them to the airport. Talk about a neat find! I'm not sure what we (EAA Chapter 129) will do with them, but for now, they are being stored in my hangar. Steve and I unloaded them easily as they weigh next to nothing compared to RV wings.
The gentleman that built these wings did a fantastic job, but they have been hanging in the rafters of the garage for over 20 years. They will probably never be used to fly, but will make a great decoration! Here's another set of ribs, presumably for the upper wings.
There's an aileron here, and perhaps a set of flaps...
The original plans were also up in the rafters!! This is cool!
