5/16/2009 This morning Steve and I installed the rudder and elevators on the tail. I haven't tightened anything yet...gotta figure out the best way to do that...
After Steve took off, I decided to start polishing the bottom of the wings. I started on the flaps, and that may be where I stop. It's not that I don't want to...the work isn't all that bad...but I am having a problem with getting the roughed up rivet lines (done with maroon scotchbrite) to polish. Here's how it looks before I started...
Here are several pics of how it looks after a small section was done with Nuvite II F7-
See the problem? Here's a close up...
You can see here that the polish is getting caked in the scratches...this is with VERY little polish being used...
Nuvite sent me a sample of three other grades, and the next courser grade is F9...this is what it looks like after F9, which is very agressive-
The scratches are still there. I'm gonna post on VAF about this to see if any one has any suggestions for me. How much does paint cost again??? So I set that aside for now and went back to work on the primer lines.
