I had high hopes for polishing today, and I was let down.  It's my fault...I shouldn't have scotchbrited the rivet lines, but I had no idea that would polish nor did I know that this would be the problem if I did.  I made SIX passes with F9 first, then two passes with F7, and this is what I STILL have...

It's like I never polished!  The area between the lines is sweet!  And the rivet lines are actually SUPER smooth, but it's still very visible, and that ain't gonna work.  I'm gonna stew on this for a few days, but I'm not happy with it one bit.

I set all that stuff aside for now, and put a BNC connector on the comm antenna wire, then started on the FloScan fuel flow transducer.  After starring at the area I need to install it for a good 20 minutes, my solution was to make a shelf for it to sit on, mounted on the bottom of the battery tray.

The transducer has to sit horizontal to keep the bearings submerged in fuel, so a shelf was really the only answer here.  Took quite a bit of time to do this, but I got it installed, not yet wired.

I thought I was doing great on connecting the FF to the gascolator, but realized AFTER I made a perfectly bent piece of AL tubing, that it's one size too small.  Damn.  I don't have any of the correct size (why???), so I have to wait on this, but here's the routing...yes, the arrows should be pointing the other direction for correct flow...

Also, I'm not sure that fuel supply line will stay there...it makes a nice straight shot to the cabin heat valve, but I'm not sure the bend in it is a good idea...I'll have someone look at that for me.  It's really too long now with it coming off the FF rather than the gascolator.

The last thing I did today, was finish the lines for the primer system.  I still have to secure everything, and get the proper B-nut fittings for the cylinder ports and hook up the lines to the plunger in the cabin, but all the lines are run.

Time to go home and mow the grass...
