It's been sort of a hectic week so far, so time in the shop has been limited.  I did get out there for an hour tonight to do a couple things with the tips.  I needed to trim a little off the tip of the rib so the strobe tubes and wires will install unobstructed.

Then I ran the pins through the hinge on the right tip to see if the eyes still lined up.  They were fine, so I gave each tip a trial fitting to the wings.  I was able to get one pin out of four in all the way.  This is better than I expected!  I knew I was going to need to grind off the epoxy that oozed out from under the hinge.  I tried to keep the squeeze out to an absolute minimum, but I couldn't keep from happening completely, and now the eyes are not able to match up.  Not a huge deal, but I do have to get rid of that epoxy to allow for a perfect fit.  I used a diamond tipped grinding tool in the Dremel, and this is working great!  You can see in the pic below what I'm talking about here.  The areas between the eyes behind the tool are not yet ground down, and the epoxy is causing the problem.

This picture also shows very well how the glass was laid down over the hinge.  I don't think these things are going anywhere.
