Woohoo!! Today I ordered the finish kit! One year and eleven days after I ordered the fuselage kit! Unbelievable! So, what did I order for an engine mount? Drum roll please!!! I ordered a non-powdercoated Dynafocal 1 mount for an O-320. Yep, a 320! Here's why I chose the 320. I got the mount non-powdercoated so I can take it to the local powdercoater to make it red. I also ordered the spinner and hardware for a constant-speed Hartzell propeller. I deleted the cowl since I plan to use the Sam James holy cowl, the tubes and tires, interior brake lines, and few parts that I ordered ahead of time like the wing root fairings. SWEET! Now I just have to wait until mid to late January for it to get here...
Tonight, I didn't get a whole lot done on the airplane. But I did manage to spend an hour cussing at the fuel lines that connect to the selector!
These things suck. Last night, I screwed up the bends, so I made new ones. These came out much better, but I still had quite a time getting these to fit properly. I did add a union fitting on each side to make this a bit easier, and I think that did help. It's really no fun working in the position that is required to fit these things.
I also ordered the Facet aux fuel pump today from Van's. The line that runs forward (not in the above pic) will connect to that before it runs thru the firewall.
